July 29, 2013 - Spartanburg, SC

My high-school buddy and co-pilot from the Bahamas trip Jack and his wife Cathy invited us down to South Carolina for the weekend.  Weather looked good so on Friday we hopped into the RV and headed south.  Well, once we had diverted around the Washington D.C. airspace, that is.

Here we are crossing downtown Spartanburg with the airport in the distance.  In a few hours, we would be enjoying ourselves down below at the Wild Ace Pizza  & Pub, surrounded by aviation memorabelia.

On downwind at Spartanburg Downtown Memorial Airport (KSPA).

We spent most of Saturday out on a lake jet-skiing.

Living it up!

This was the first time I'd ever been on a jet ski.  Fun.

We left a little early Sunday morning to beat some forecasted iffy weather coming in.   Lynnette and Cathy.

All four of us.

The excitement was too much for her.
